ABSTRACT

This study is a web-based teacher’s evaluation system for Central Philippine University utilizing a text sentiment analysis algorithm. The developed unified system streamlines the collection and analysis of teacher evaluation surveys by automating comment parsing, polarity determination, and report generation. The study employed the Rapid Application Development (RAD) Model and integrated topic modeling and the widely used Naïve Bayes algorithm into the web-based teacher evaluation system. This enabled the automatic determination of comments polarity and facilitated the collection and analysis of feedback, enhancing the system’s functionality and effectiveness in providing useful insights into faculty teaching performance. The development web-based teacher evaluation system provides an efficient and effective solution to the university’s current process of collecting and evaluating teacher evaluations. It caters to the needs of the Human Resource Development Office and the department heads, facilitating the collection and analysis of feedback to assess and improve faculty/teacher performance. With the utilization of the text sentiment analysis algorithm, the system can gather data and provide insights that will aid in the continuous improvement of the faculty’s teaching performance. Its successful development and implementation can serve as a foundation for future research that will utilize technology to further enhance the university’s educational system.
