ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to determine the level of satisfaction of the faculty members of Central Philippine University for School year 2007-2008. It also determined relationships that exist between level of satisfaction and personal characteristics such as age, religion, educational attainment, undergraduate course, length of services and basic monthly income. It also sought to compare satisfaction level of faculty according to sex and civil status and determined whether there is significant level of faculty according to sex and civil status and determined whether there is significant difference in the satisfaction level of the faculty for school year 2005-2006 and 200-2008. The sample consisted of two-hundred eleven (211) randomly selected faculty coming from different departments of the University. Results revealed that faculty members were “satisfied” with almost all the services rendered by the University except in the area of planning and implementation of policies where faculty members were “slightly satisfied”. Over-all satisfaction results shows that faculty members of the University were “satisfied”. On the other hand, faculty members were “satisfied” with the benefits classified as “pay for time not worked” and the services rendered to them by the different units in the University. Of the variables considered, undergraduate course, and basic monthly income have significant relationship with level of satisfaction and significant difference between the faculty’s level of satisfaction and civil status. Moreover, faculty members had a higher satisfaction level in school year 2005-2006 than in 2007-2008.
