ABSTRACT
This study examined the influence of superiors’ leadership style and the association of prepotent needs to the innovativeness level of faculty members from eleven academic units of CPU. Pearson R. and Cramer’s V analysis were used to analyze data collected from 140 full-time faculty members and 24 deans and department (unit) heads who were subjected to one-shot survey. The findings showed that the faculty developmental (or consideration) leadership style of the deans and the middle-of-the-road (neither initiating structural nor considerate) leadership style of heads did not influence the moderate level of innovativeness shown by the teachers. However, the safety and social needs which were prepotent among the teachers were significantly associated with their moderate creative intensity.
